How are VELUX skylights made so they don't leak?

VELUX deck-mount skylights and curb-mount skylights feature three layers of weather protection:

1. The pre-attached deck seal (deck-mounted) or pre-attached gasket (curb-mounted), both provide a seal between the frame and roof for leak-proof installation.
2. Adhesive underlayment is added for water protection against harsh weather conditions.
3. Engineered flashing provides primary water protection.

VELUX Skylights carry a 10-year installation warranty, 20-year glass warranty, 10-year product warranty, and 5-year shade and control warranty.

Additionally, VELUX designed the skylight installation to be as simple as possible, eliminating mistakes that can lead to leaks. These skylights and flashing kits come with everything a skylight installer needs to ensure water won't get in after the skylight installation is complete.
